iPhone 18 Pro: All Colors In-Depth Comparison! Which is Best?

I’ve got every iPhone 18 Pro color on the desk at once: the 18 Pro Max in Burgundy and Black, and the 18 Pro in Glacier Blue and Silver. Honestly, I think this is a better set of four colors than last year’s lineup, and in this in-depth comparison I put them side by side in natural light and indoors, run a fingerprint and smudge test, check side profiles, reflections, color-matched logos and bezels, line Burgundy up against the old purple iPhone 14 Pro, and break down Pro vs Pro Max before naming my favorite. (TAC sponsored this video and sent over their Matrix Grip cases and matte Pure Glass screen protector, but everything here is my honest take.)

My Honest Take: Burgundy is the color that keeps winning me over — had I seen it before I picked Glacier, I might have gone Burgundy this year, it absorbs light better than anything else in the lineup, and next to the old purple 14 Pro it looks way, way better. The catch is fingerprints: Burgundy and Black smudge up fast while Glacier and Silver basically never look dirty, although a really messy Burgundy gets a grungy look that almost seems intentional, and a dry microfiber cloth wipes all of them back to brand new. Black is the one I’d least go for because it feels too basic, but if you love that Batman stealth, all-matte-black look, it’s your phone, and the flash stands out more on the darker colors. Glacier is a nice sky baby blue that isn’t too committal (I just wish it were a little brighter), and Silver is drastically better than last year now that the ugly mismatched white back is gone and it reads like proper MacBook silver. Logos, backs, and even the screws are tinted to each color, and from the front the bezels barely give the color away. Pro vs Pro Max: I’d always recommend the Pro, since this year’s Pro gets battery life as good as last year’s Pro Max, both have the A20 Pro, the same cameras, faster wired charging up to 50% in 15 minutes, and 2 TB options, plus a noticeably smaller Dynamic Island with room for three Live Activities, so the Max really just adds battery and a bigger 6.9-inch screen — and if you want a bigger phone, I’d genuinely look at the Duo. One tip I learned the hard way: never stack these with the sapphire camera lenses on another phone’s screen.

Final thoughts: my favorite this year is Burgundy — really nice, very sophisticated, very clean — but don’t overthink it, because the color that catches your eye in person is the one you’re going to like the best.
