These AR Glasses Project a 150-Inch Private Screen!
I’ve been waiting for the smart glasses future to finally get real, and the INMO Air 3 is the closest I’ve seen yet. These are the world’s first all-in-one AR glasses with a 1080p full-color waveguide display — no phone tethering, no cables, no external battery pack. A Sony micro OLED projects a 150-inch virtual screen that floats about 13 feet in front of you, and thanks to the waveguide, nobody next to you can see what you’re watching. (INMO sponsored this one.)
In the box you get clip-on shades, extra nose pads, a fold-up origami case, a USB-C touchpad remote, and the Ring 3 wearable remote with motion control. The arms pack a Snapdragon 8-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, a 660 mAh battery, and 128 GB of storage, and they run Android 14 natively with the Google Play Store and Chrome on the international version — so Netflix downloads, YouTube, ChatGPT, and cloud gaming like Xbox Game Pass or GeForce Now all just work, no sideloading. The 600-nit display held up on a sunny park bench, and my favorite surprise use case is chores: watching a show while doing dishes or laundry without the weight or fog of a headset. Typing passwords with the ring is painful (pair a keyboard), there’s a 16 MP camera if you want hands-free clips, and the real trade-off is battery — about 60 to 90 minutes before you need to recharge. They’re chunky up close, but they’re the sweet spot between tethered Xreal/Rokid-style glasses and display-less Ray-Ban Metas.
Watch the full INMO Air 3 review for the unboxing, the waveguide explainer, outdoor daylight testing, the ring and controller demos, multitasking mode, and laptop-plus-glasses setup. Final thoughts: these are really for early adopters and tinkerers, but if you want a private TV you can carry everywhere that nobody else can see, the Air 3 is the most complete standalone take I’ve tried.
